We can’t believe it, but MyWorkSpot has been open 12 months already! What can we say, but a big thank you to friends, family, supporters and most importantly our fantastic MyWorkSpot customers for helping us make this first milestone.
From nerves and excitement of opening the doors on day one in July 2017 through to 12 months later, where we now have over 150 registered business users, 48 member businesses and we are home to 15 resident companies with teams of 2-12. We’ve also seen many many more visitors to MWS over the past 12 months with our regular business talks, networking and social events proving immensely popular within the local business community as a platform for learning and collaboration.
Of course it hasn’t been easy, especially in the early days, when communicating the concept of coworking, which while established in London, was new for Maidenhead, and like for every new business the challenge of translating interest into paying customers!
But for us, while we have to take care of the bills, it has always been much more than about getting bums on seats. If we were to give ourselves a “pat on the back” it is because we now have established such a great business community. We see our resident businesses actively referring business between each other, as well as growing and hiring new staff. It is great to see them thriving within the environment we have built, it is obviously good for our own business and we believe it is good for Maidenhead as well.
To the future, we are actively looking to grow further within the town within a new bigger location while also considering new locations within the Thames Valley. It has been nice to have a number of landlords from outside of Maidenhead approach us to open a similar facility within their portfolio, which hopefully means we are doing something right. But one step at a time and we are looking forward to raising a glass or two
